Mexican Naturalization

The Path to Becoming a Mexican Citizen

Obtaining Mexican citizenship is the highest level of integration and legal security for a foreigner in our country. At Immigration Global, we guide you through this historic process, managing your citizenship certificate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE). We handle all the necessary legal and administrative procedures so you can proudly and confidently call Mexico your homeland.

How to get your Mexican passport in 2026?

Mexican law establishes different paths to obtaining a naturalization certificate. We analyze your eligibility based on your specific situation to ensure a successful process.

  • By Residence (Ordinary Route): For those residents who have completed the uninterrupted legal stay required by law (generally 5 years).

  • By Marital Tie: A preferential process for foreigners married to Mexican citizens (2 years of residence).

  • Having Mexican Children: If you have children born in Mexico, the waiting time to become a naturalized citizen is significantly reduced (2 years of residence).

  • For Latin American or Iberian Origin: Reduced time benefits for citizens of sister countries or Spain (2 years of residence).
